Our Business Lines

Energy Distribution

Markets

Energy Distribution includes the distribution of fuels, heating oils, lubricants, liquefied gases and bitumens (Retail & Marketing) and upstream logistics, which includes product supply, shipping and refining activities in the French West Indies via our stake in SARA (Support & Services). It is this control of the entire supply chain, from the purchase of products to the end user, that enables us to offer our customers reliable, long-term access to energy.

Fuels at service stations

In 23 countries, mainly in Africa and the Caribbean, we offer motorists a complete range of Ultra Tec fuels and additive fuels that improve vehicle performance while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. We are also developing a range of biofuels and synthetic fuels such as RD100, a 100% renewable diesel that reduces CO₂ emissions by 90% compared with ordinary diesel, marketed in the Channel Islands.
Our 1,084 international-standard service stations also feature modern shops offering food, refreshments, convenience goods and more.
In Europe, we also distribute LPG fuel in more than 500 partner chains.

Aviation fuels

We refuel aircraft safely and as quickly as possible. To meet the needs of this highly demanding market, we draw on our logistical expertise: airport storage terminals, precise management of security reserves, dedicated supply vessels, etc.

Fuels for industry

We have a logistics and sales organisation tailored to the needs of professionals, to facilitate the smooth running of industries, the hotel trade, the agricultural sector, construction and public works, etc.
We also supply quality marine fuels and biofuels that meet the most stringent specifications.
To support our customers in their decarbonisation strategies, we are developing combined fuel oil-solar and LPG-solar offerings.

Liquefied gases

We offer liquefied gases (propane and butane) in cylinders or delivered in the tanks of our customers, both private individuals and professionals. Liquefied gas is a vital energy source for millions of people because it is versatile, easy to store and transport. Its distribution means it can reach very remote areas, islands and high-altitude communities. What’s more, using it as a replacement for wood or coal helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and combat deforestation.

Bitumen

In Africa, we distribute bitumen and bitumen products tailored to our customers’ needs (PMB/emulsions). We participate in the construction of road infrastructure by supplying international builders or local private companies. To ensure just-in-time delivery of the volumes we need, we rely on our purchasing department, a fleet of specially adapted vessels, a large storage capacity, flexible logistics with tankers and transport containers, and full technical support.

Solar energy in the Western Caribbean: a step closer to a sustainable future

With plenty of sunshine all year round, the Caribbean has significant potential in terms of solar energy. In June 2024, Rubis Caribbean entered into a partnership with Soleco Energy, a renewable energy development platform, to accelerate the deployment of photovoltaic installations to large commercial and industrial clients in the region. A step towards a sustainable future while guaranteeing economic prosperity and energy security.

Sustainable heating in
the Channel Islands

To heat your home while combating climate change, Rubis distributes EcoHeat100, a 100% renewable domestic heating oil. This second-generation biofuel is made from renewable and sustainable raw materials, such as used cooking oils and residual fats. It offers a 90% reduction in CO₂ emssions compared with conventional diesel, with no odours or fine particles.

Vitogaz fights deforestation in Madagascar

In 60 years, 45% of natural forests have been destroyed, mainly to produce charcoal and firewood for cooking. 90% of Malagasy households use this source of energy, which can be purchased daily in small quantities. To combat this scourge, Vitogaz Madagascar is offering consumers the opportunity to buy retail gas (from 500g to 2.5kg) to spread their expenses. The scheme, which has been in place since 2018, helps to combat deforestation, protect biodiversity and prevent respiratory diseases.
