According to the International Energy Outlook forecasts published in October 2021, global energy consumption could increase by almost 50% over the next 30 years. At the same time, global warming calls for a rapid transition to low-carbon energy sources. This transition must take place while ensuring energy security, i.e. access to reliable, sustainable energy for
